GET YOUR OWN TIM WATTS ART...FOR A GOOD CAUSE.

Okay, since evil eBay pulled the plug, Tim has gone direct with his commissions. The deal now works like this. You make a $35 donation to the van fund (which you can do here...):
You then send Tim an e-mail directly at tim@theniceguycomic.com, let him know you paid your dough, and give him your art request. Content is up to you, but it is for a single figure shot, and nothing...well, let's just say nothing nekkid and leave it at that. He'll do sexy/cheesecakey, but the clothes stay on. So keep it clean. And with that, you'll get a Tim Watts pencil-n-ink original, mailed to you along with a full-color print of it, colored by none other than The Nice Guy's own L. J'amal Walton. And again, I point out that these guys are donating these artistic services, and their time, for nuthin. Because they rock. They're like Ted Nugent, but with pens...
So jump on it while you can, and before they get too many requests, start to drool and develop nervous ticks, and have to call it quits. Nice Guy art...all yours!

Sorry, folks, seems eBay decided to yank the auction with just one day left to go. Their reason was that it was listed as a charity fundraiser, and Tim wasn't an official charity. So they pulled it. Very sorry to anyone who was bidding. We're not real thrilled about it either. But Tim's working on an alternative now, so one way or the other, you'll still get your shot at Tim art. Stay tuned for news.
So it turns out Tim has an eBay auction going, for just a few days, offering original custom art from him. Why is he doing so? Trouble paying that phone bill this month (those 900 numbers aren't free like 800 numbers, you know...)?. No, Tim's doing it for charity.
And the charity, is turns out, is me.
If you've jumped around our photo page, you've probably figured out that I'm in a wheelchair. That's due to having Muscular Dystrophy. And, since wheeling that thing down the freeway to work can be a bit of a workout, I drive a (very) specialized handicapped-equipped van. A van which, I'm afraid, is falling apart after fifteen years of use (and frequent drag racing for pinks...).
Turns out there's a van of the exact type I need available right now, but it ain't cheap. As in, a lot more than I can afford. So, not seeing a lot of other options, and really needing a vehicle to get myself to work, I thought about all those stories I've heard about web pages put up by people asking for money for all kinds of wacky stuff...and I built one. Figured I had nothing to lose.
So the fund-raising has begun, and friends, family and total strangers are completely blowing me away with their kindness and help, inching me ever closer to what I hope is at least part of the way to the goal. Friends are sending the page link all over the place, posting it on boards and blogs, posting it on their MySpace pages, and really getting the word out. And it's working.
In the middle of this, Tim decided he'd take a different path to help me out. Working in comics, like myself, he of course doesn't have piles of free cash to throw around. But he got this idea to offer up some original art and auction 10 pieces on eBay to raise me some extra cash. Not only is Tim donating his extra time to doing this art, but our colorist, J'amal, has also offered to color them at no charge, to make those pieces even more tempting to eBay art-lovers. I wish I had the words to express my feelings on this, but for once, I'm just out. Turns out you find out what really amazing friends you have when you actually ask for help (for once).
